About Us

Hello! I'm Michael McDonald

McDonald's Tree Haven applies over 50 years of family tree growing experience to produce consistent, high quality trees year-after-year. Farm owner Michael McDonald has been involved in growing Christmas trees since an early age. His parents Anna and Truman founded McDonald’s Tree Farm in 1961 which continues to operate as a chose and cut farm.

McDonald’s Tree Haven was started in 1985, taking the knowledge from the original farm to a new location for the production of wholesale trees. This operation has produced tens of thousands of high quality trees.

The plantation is located in Steuben County, NY near the town of Bradford.

Quality

Trees are typically offered in the size range of 6.5’-8’ and they are a premium/#1 Grade.

Pricing

All prices include cutting, baling, helping load on truck. Customers are responsible for transportation arrangements and insurance.

2 grades

A limited quantity of number of taller trees 8’-10’ premium/#1 Grade are available. Number 2 grade trees are available at a lower price.

Season

Harvesting is done at the latest possible time before the trees are picked up to provide the freshest product for your customers. Typically, trees are available for pick-up the week of Thanksgiving.

Terms

30% deposit with order, balance due at pickup. Bank checks only.

Visit Us

Our plantation is located in Steuben County, N.Y. near the town of Bradford. Visits to see the trees are encouraged. Please call to set up an appointment.

How we produce high quality trees

We apply over 50 years of family tree growing experience to produce consistent, high quality trees year-after-year.

It starts with excellent soil - well suited for Christmas tree production with ideal drainage, nutrient & PH levels.

We use the highest quality tree stock available in the industry with proven seed sources that produce full trees, with outstanding shape, color and needle retention.

Annual cultural practices (lots of work!) include planting, fertilization, pest management, basal pruning, shearing, mowing and weed control.

All trees are personally hand sheared by the farm owner. All our efforts go to produce high quality trees that will make your customers return year after year.
